"Oo! Oo! Pick me! Not only will I be spending several days in the car this summer, but I'll be headed out to live in Denver where I'll be so much closer to the sun! My poor skin won't know what to do without protection!"

Thanks to everyone who participated. Stay tuned for the next giveaway and your chance to WIN!

Get Carried Away in SATC2 Fashion!

I am so excited to go see SATC2, I can hardly stand it! But what I most looking forward to, besides finally seeing Aiden and Carrie give it another whirl, is the ridiculously amazing fashion.

The fashion frenzy surrounding the film started months ago when Carrie was splashed across one of the official movie posters in a pair of gorgeous Vivienne Westwood gladiator sandals. The fabulous shoes are a feminine rendition of Vivienne's popular Pirate Boot, that I also featured here a few months ago. These strappy wonders were just the beginning of the fashion craze my four favorite fashion-forward fashionistas have in store for us.

Love her or hate her, Samantha (Kim Cattrall) is still one sexy @itch, and almost all of her SATC styles have been totally steal worthy. For a scene in the movie set in Abu Dhabi (and shot in Morocco), Samantha is rocking amazing Egyptian Cleopatra earrings by Wendy Brandes. I would DIE to have these 18K gold snakes, adorned with 1.36 carats of diamonds, draping from my ears!

Another fierce looked pulled off in the flick is a large ball-gown skirt paired with a simple tee. Not necessarily an outfit I would choose to go shopping, like Carrie would, but definitely a look to take note of. Carrie wears her adorable Dior top with an asymmetrical bottomed puffy purple skirt in one of the first scenes in the Middle East. Love it!

Since we all can't pull off ball gowns on a regular Tuesday afternoon, Carrie serves up some more traditional street savvy looks. We've got plenty of time before Labor Day to wear this wonderful white frock by Halston Heritage. Paired with a classic Chanel clutch, sexy sunnys and Louboutin python heels?? YES PLEASE!!

Carrie literally almost stops traffic in one scene where she wears another beautiful cobalt blue cocktail dress by Halston Heritage. But I must say it's the accessories that make this look. Her Jimmy Choo Iola cuff is keeping it street, and her Louboutin heels and Jee Vice heated orange shades are keeping it HOT.

Now, if the movie is nearly as good as the fashion the girls are bringing to the big screen, we're all in for a REAL treat!

P.S. Stay tuned for the Dermalogica Giveaway Winner announcement... I'll be posting the lucky reader's name shortly!

Pale is the New Tan Giveaway!

I'm the first to admit that before a big event like a wedding, a party, a charity event, or a summer vacation I often times will make a pit stop at the local salon for some Airbrush Tanning. I mean, who doesn't look better with a nice healthy glow?? With that said, I'm also the first to admit that I never, I repeat NEVER, spend an extended length of time in the sun without a heavy layer of SPF. As a licensed Esthetician, and as a girl with several cases of skin cancer in her family, I know the direct (evil) effects of sun damage all too well.

Now that winter is officially behind us, it's time to step up our sunscreen game, and get on board with the latest trend: youthful skin. We may love our designer leather handbags, but no one wants to look like one!

I have been hooked on Dermalogica skincare for years, and their SPF skincare collection, Daylight Defense, is by far the best sun protection system to have ever landed in my beach bag!

The Solar Defense Booster SPF 30 is my favorite product in the SPF line, and fans like Fergie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Richie agree. You can simply add the serum to your daily moisturizer or makeup for an instant boost of protection, or just wear it solo as your primary defense.

Some other favorites from the collection include the Multivitamin Bodyblock SPF 20, which is both nourishing and moisturizing, and the Solar Shield SPF 15, which is a convenient stick that can be used on your face, lips and ears, and can easily be tossed in your purse.

Ever forget the block and feel the burn? Well, lucky for you, Dermalogica has an awesome After Sun Repair, which not only reduces the discomfort, but it also helps reduce the damage. This product is also great to keep in your tool kit for post waxing!

As a thank you to all my Ash Hearts Fash readers, Dermalogica has teamed up with me to run a fun GIVEAWAY! One LUCKY reader will win a FREE Daylight Defense Kit, which includes my 4 favorite items listed above, for all your summer travels!

The promotion starts today, 5/11/2010, and will run for 2 weeks, ending on 5/25/2010. All you have to do is register as a FOLLOWER on my blog, and then leave a comment on this entry with your name and the number of road trips you plan on taking this summer! At the end of the contest, I'll pull one name out of a (very stylish) hat and I'll announce the winner here on my blog! I'll also contact the winner directly for an address to ship your kit to.

Thanks for playing... and GOOD LUCK!

Fashionista Road Warrior

I am so excited that spring has officially poked it's little head out from the clouds, and summer is right around the corner. One of the many things I am totally looking forward to in the coming months are SUMMER ROAD TRIPS!! Over the past few summers, my boyfriend and I have packed the car to the gills with camping gear, several bags of my "necessities", tasty snacks, and we've hit the winding road with our pooch in tow. We have visited several amazing hot springs, beautiful camping destinations, Burning Man, fun artsy-fartsy towns, random motels, quirky landmarks, and a music festival or two. We already have a few trips on the calendar for Summer '10, and one of the first things that comes to mind when it comes to these vacays is... what will I pack to wear?? How will I be a fashionable road warrior this summer? Well, I have some ideas...

Since life on the road can be a little more casual, it's the perfect time to channel your inner hippie child. I mean, when you think "road trip", don't you picture a VW bus anyway? Flowy tunics, sundresses, or maxi skirts scream summer... and are totally comfortable for the car ride. They're easy to throw on (or off) and are still dead sexy without requiring much fuss.

I la la LOVE Nicole Richie's Winter Kate line of clothing, and it totally fits the (fashionista's) road trip bill.  How cute are these Camelia and Emma paisley dresses from her Spring/Summer 2010 Collection?!

I was obsessed with the Maxi Dress last summer, but this season I am totally crushing on Maxi Skirts! Paired with a camisole or tank, or even with your bikini top or a cozy sweater, the Maxi Skirt is a simple way to transform into a (comfortable) bohemian beauty. This lovely gypsy wonder from Top Shop is ultra versatile, and will have you hitting the road in style this summer.

Rock any of these sweet summer looks with a messenger bag, which will keep your passport, cash, and other beloved belongings safely tucked close to your side. Anthropologie has some great cross body styles (below) that definitely compliment the hippie chic look. The funky Carnaval bag is road trip righteous, and the more conservative Here-There-Everywhere Bag's name speaks for itself.

Lastly, don't forget your favorite gladiator sandals and oversized sunny's, and you'll be ready to hit the open road as a true Fashionista Road Warrior!
