Hat Head

I LOVE fall, but I LOVE my fall accessories even more. Scarves, mittens... and most of all, cozy knit hats! They cut my morning routine in half by nixing flatiron time, and keep my head (fashionably) toasty.

From slouchy to fitted... from headbands to full coverage... the choices are endless and you can't really go wrong.

I love this standard slouchy beanie from UO.

And how cute is this headband from UO as well? Such a cute rendition of the classic cap, and quite similar to the one I wore today from LF to rake leaves (a chore that's not nearly as fun as it looks).

This turban-headband-crochet-cap crossbreed from Nasty Gal is adorable... and sure to add the perfect punch of pop to any dreary fall day.

Last but not least, I'm thrilled with this Carlisle cap by DVF. Paired with something as simple as jeans and a white t-shirt, this woolly wonder is chic enough to make you look like an amazing autumn goddess.

Now, time to carve pumpkins!

Fashionably Late

First off, I want to apologize for being MIA. I started a new "real" job, went to Burning Man for a week, recovered from Burning Man for a week, spent some time dealing with family drama, "someone" spilled an adult beverage all over my laptop... blah, blah, blah. Anyway, this post brings a whole new meaning to fashionably late. I have a month's worth of fashion bliss to make up for. Here are some pieces I've been pining for in my absence...

These Lita boots by Jeffrey Campbell are ridiculously hot. I love the stacked front platform, and the color options are endless. It's borderline cruel to have that many options.

Love, Love, LOVE this salt and pepper braided sweater from Bona Drag (my latest online obsession). Oh, to wear this beauty paired with leggings and boots this fall... perfection. ♥

Last year I really wanted the Rachel Vest by BB Dakota, but by the time I got around to actually getting it, it was out of stock everywhere. Lucky for me, I am equally in lust with the Janika Faux-Fur Vest they are dishing out this season.

I'm digging these wide leg trousers from Topshop. They are so bohemian and feminine... two of my favorite things.

It's no secret I am addicted to my JBrands. I wear my mid-rise dark skinnies at least once a week. They fit better than any other jeans I own and are super versatile. I'll admit, they have seen better days, so it's time I mix it up... I have my eyes on their newish Agnes skinny, a moto-zipper pant that would look totally killer with booties.

I love Fall... I really do. ♥

Tucker for Target

I am always excited about Target's collaborations with hot designers for their Go International line, but I am particularly excited for their latest partnership set to hit stores this September. Tucker, created by designer Gaby Basora (who has created a name for herself as a stylist), may be a lesser-known label to the masses, but it's definitely a mild obsession for those in the fashion world. I am hooked on the bohemian inspired line which features flowy blouses, vintage floral prints and fabulous feminine dresses.

Here is a photo of me in one of my favorite blouses by Tucker. I am stoked to see there are very similar pieces featured in the upcoming Target Collection (for a fraction of what I paid for this one).

This top is super cute tucked into jeans, or worn belted over skinny jeans/leggings.

Love this tank-top rendition of my butterfly blouse... So pretty!

The countdown is on till September 12th!

Triple Threat

Jessica Simpson may sing and act, but what she really should be known for is her knack for designing some seriously sexy shoes! One of her latest wonders, the Dany, brings two of the features I'm generally looking for in a heel... height and HOTNESS. I'm ridiculously short, and my stumpy legs are not nearly my favorite asset, but I can't imagine any legs would look less than fierce in these puppies.

The heel may stand at a whopping 5.8", but with that hefty platform in front, I can't imagine they'd feel painfully high. Either way, they are way too cute and way too affordable to turn down.

Dear Jessica: Please stick to designing... this is clearly your niche.

Fringe is my Friend

I have been seeing fringe on a lot of fall pieces, and I must admit, I'm really feeling it. Not only does it tap into my latest favorite style, Southwest Boho, but it's straight up sassy!

This Veda bag from Shopbop packs a pinch of rock & roll, a touch of 80's spunk, and a double dose of sexy. Yes, please!

I bet you can find a "fringe" with benefits in this dress... Just sayin'.

BB Dakota is keeping things HOT with this fringed cardigan... a super versatile essential for fall.

Of course my friends at Donni Charm are keeping it fresh with fringe in their Spring Collection of Donni Tie Scarves. Can't wait to see what's in store for us in Fall!

I'm pretty sure fringe is my new best friend for fall.

Interview with a Designer

A few weeks ago I sat down and interviewed an AMAZING designer, CarolAnn Wachter, for my column. I met CarolAnn at a cool little rug and home decor store in Boulder, รจ bella, where a lot of her pieces are sold.

I instantly fell in love with her vintage inspired collection of hats, dresses, coats and separates. Even the way her clothing is displayed in the store, like a work of art, shows CarolAnn's distinct creative personality.

CarolAnn was drawn to this large branch on a walk and just had to bring it home. It sat in her walkway for nearly a year before she "needed" it. This inspires me to add some extra closet space to my bedroom too!
I want this little white dress to bring out my innocence... It drapes perfectly and screams feminine...
Her hats make me want to head straight to Nantucket or the Hamptons... circa 1940.
I could live here.

I love meeting passionate people with inspiring stories. CarolAnn inspired me to keep following my dream, and she proves that nothing is unattainable if you've got HEART. Now, if only I could figure out what my "dream" is... so I can chase it... all the way to the bank!

House of Harlow 1960... A Step Above

Nicole Richie is one of my favorite celebrity fashionistas to trend track, and what's even better, she has 2 fabulous lines that make her steal-worthy style totally attainable. I have featured lots of lovely duds from her clothing line, Winter Kate, here in my blog. Her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, has also been a favorite to follow. But now that HOH is putting out more than just jewelry, I am totally smitten. Her shoes could very well be the best thing since TV Dinners. Just sayin'....

These Misha boots are totally in sync with my (latest) favorite trend... Southwest BoHo. Yes, please!

This pump is versatile enough to transition from summer to fall, and since they're too dang pretty to just sit in my shoe rack, I'd pair them with a knit tight through the winter, too! Check out that back detail... ahhhhmazing.

If only I was RICH-ie, I'd have them all! Haha... get it? ;)
