Crochet Crave

I love a challenging DIY project every now and then. Nothing beats that feeling of accomplishment... knowing that you made something pretty with your own two (manicured) hands. I learned to sew when I was younger but didn't pick it up again until a few years ago. I'm FAR from great, but it's still rewarding - not to mention a ton of fun to play around with my creative side. I recently picked up a few crocheted pieces to add to my wardrobe, one of my latest style obsessions, and briefly considered giving crocheting a whirl. Well, then I remembered my Mom trying to teach me to knit a few years ago... I wasn't the same patient student I once was and couldn't quite get the hang of it. Something tells me crocheting is a just a tad bit harder than knitting, so on second thought, I think I'll leave it to the professionals.

My FAVORITE Handmade Crochet Earrings from Buffalo Exchange. LOVE.
Vintage Crochet Drape Top
Crochet Cream Tights (because I'm not white enough as it is).

I totally wish I would have taken Grandma Rose up on her offer to teach me to crochet. My wallet might thank me.

Prepare to Flare

By now I think it's safe to say that skinny jeans have staying power on the fashion scene. That said, flare denim has far from vanished... in fact, this season is all about 70's funk. I've been seeing bell bottoms everywhere, and although I may not be trading in my J-Brand Skinny Legs for keeps, I'm totally trading them in for the J-Brand Bell Bottoms for now.

Flares paired with a bohemian blouse (preferably by Winter Kate), retro shades and chunky platforms is the epitome of 70's chic - a style I'm totally feeling for spring. I'd complete the look with minimal makeup... NARS 'Orgasm' Illuminator is a perfect alternative to heavy foundation for a quick and easy glow, and their 'Dolce Vita' lipstick is a great subtle shade that works on virtually everyone's skin tone. Throw in a splash of Angel Eau De Parfum, my go-to blend of vanilla, sandalwood and patchouli, and you've got yourself one smoking hot hippie!

Peace!

Threeway

Who doesn't like getting more bang for their buck? I'm obsessed with versatile pieces; flexible fashion I can easily mix and match, virtually multiplying my looks and updating my outfits. So, when I stumbled across the Smock Necklace by NYC based accessories designer Louise Manna, I couldn't stop envisioning the million different ways I could work this piece of art into my wardrobe.

Worn covering my shoulders with a plain white tank for a touch of punk rock... or draping down my back with a sexy backless LBD on date night... or as a basic necklace with a sweet summer sundress... the possibilities are endless! Did I mention I'm obsessed with versatile pieces? Okay... just checking.

Happy Valentines Day to Me

A friend of mine got married last weekend and I was dead set on pairing my burgundy FCUK cocktail dress with a bootie to add edge. It was love at first sight when I came across the Lachlan bootie by Coclico, one of my favorite Spanish shoe designers. Who needs chocolate, flowers and teddy bears anyway? Happy Valentines Day to me! ♥

Coral Crush

In honor of Stupid Cupid Day Valentines Day, I am revealing my latest crush on coral. Coral packs a little more punch than the typical pink and red hues that debut around this Hallmark Holiday, and personally, I just think it's prettier.

Here are some of my favorite pieces to swoon for this February...

The feminine frock I featured from H&M is absolutely adorable and totally budget friendly. Spice up your skinny jeans on date night with these sexy suede platform peep toes from Topshop - so cute who cares if you get blisters?!! I honestly can't get over how ahhhhhhmazing YSL's Oval Coral ring is... paired with Essie's California Coral polish? That's enough to make me melt. ♥
